When can I play with my crabs?
Last Updated: 05/29/2009
Whenever you can see their shell.

Explanation: The only time you really do not want to disturb your crabs is when they are buried to molt. Hermit crabs like to dig burrows or tunnels to hang out in and to sleep in. Sometimes they will be buried for several days and then come back up. Our advice is to never dig up a hermit crab where you can not see their shell. This way you will not disturb a crab that may be beginning the process of molting.
