Shipping and Returns
How do you ship supplies?
  We offer shipping via USPS. Shipping charges are figured, based on the order weight, at the time of check out.

Most orders are shipped within 2-3 business days.

We try to minimize your shipping costs whenever possible and refund the difference back to you. For example for USPS Priority shipping, we will try to fit your order in one of the Flat Rate boxes or Regional Rate boxes if it is less expensive.

When your merchandise ships, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail with tracking information and your payment will be processed.

We offer FREE SHIPPING on orders $99.00 or more, shipped in the continental US only. There are several items that do not qualify for or towards free shipping including our Substrate mixture (which ships at $12.45 per box). Usually the Free Shipping option will be offered during check out if your order qualifies. Orders will be shipped via the ground carrier of our choice UPS or USPS.

Sometimes your order does qualify but it may not be offered in the drop down menu, for example if you have both substrate and supplies in the same order and your supplies add up to $99, in this case we will adjust your shipping charge manually once we receive your order and refund the extra paid for shipping your supplies.
Product substitutions.
  Occasionally we will make a minor product substitution in your order to expedite shipping. For example if your dish color or coco hut color is unavailable we will pick another color.

We always make sure that any change we make is with a like product or an upgraded product. We will not downgrade any items in your order.
What is your return policy?
  The Goal of The Hermit Crab Patch is to offer quality products to help you raise healthy hermit crabs. Below we have laid out the guidelines of our return policies. Beyond these guidelines we will consider requests on an individual basis.
Dry Goods
  • Items that are damaged during shipping or arrive defective should be reported to The Hermit Crab Patch upon receipt of the shipment. Please do not destroy any of the original packaging. We may have a shipping representative return to your residence or business to pick up the damaged product. We will re-ship the product at our expense and file a shipping claim on your behalf.
  • Products may be returned to us, within 14 days of receipt, for a refund as long as they are unopened and unused. Return shipping is at your expense. See below for return procedure.
  • Other return requests will be handled individually.
  • Some products may have an additional manufacturers warranty.
  • We want you to be satisfied with The Hermit Crab Patch manufactured products. Please contact us with any problems you encounter.
Foods
  • Foods and Supplements MAY NOT be returned.
Acrylic Covers
  • The Acrylic Covers MAY NOT be returned, please measure carefully and make sure they will work on your style of tank.They are suitable for All Metal Screen Lids only.
How do I return my product?
 
  1. To request a return please create a Support Ticket from your Account page. Please include your order number, description of products to return and reason for the request. Please note: Foods and Supplements may not be returned.

  2. After reviewing your request we will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization Number with return instructions. We will not accept items for return without this RMA number.

  3. Please carefully re-pack the items for return including all accessories, manuals etc. and write the Return Authorization Number on the outside of the package.

  4. For items where we are paying for the return shipping, we will issue you a pre-paid return label and/or schedule a pickup for your package.

  5. When we receive the returned items in new condition we will issue a credit to your payment account for the price of the returned items. Return shipping costs are not covered.
