Ideally you want the temperature of your crabitat at 78deg F and the humidity at 80%. When hermit crabs have the proper temperature and humidity they will remain more active.

Additional Needs

• Substrate deep enough AND moist enough that your largest crab is able to bury into complete darkness to molt.


• A bowl of freshwater to drink and soak in.
  A bowl of saltwater to drink and soak in.


• A diet of good hermit crab food supplemented with fresh produce.


• Extra properly sized shells to move in to.


• Areas to hide in and stuff to climb on.


• Friends to keep each other company.
