The Hermit Crab Patch Shell Measuring Caliper. Our shell measuring caliper is designed to make it easy to determine the proper size of shell opening your crab needs. Calipers are a useful and accurate way to measure inside and outside diameters but are typically hard to read.

We have taken a lightweight polycast caliper that is designed to measure down to 1/128", and applied a custom easy to read sticker that is graduated every 1/8". The measurement is read below the 0 (1 1/4" in the picture above).

We measure all of our shell openings from left to right and list them by opening size in 1/8" increments, so using this caliper will help ensure that you get the shell size you desire.

This is just what I needed. It makes sizing shells a snap. Now I know what size of shells that my Hermies are in now and lets me know just the right size of the shells I'm shopping for to be the next size up for them to grow into.

This is really a must have product if you want to get the right sizes of shells.  So much easier then trying to use a ruler or tape measure.

This product really comes in handy. I use it all the time whether to measure new crabs or just when I'm taking shells out of the tank and using it to put them in their correct container.
