Description
 
Jumbo Coenobita clypeatus (Purple Pincher). All of the Jumbo crabs we sell have been extensively handled and are accustomed to receiving hand fed treats.
  • Once you get to this size crab, you need to be keeping 12 inches of moist sand in your tank.
  • A general rule for this size of crab is to allow at least 5 gallons of space for each crab.
  • A 65 gallon tank (36L x 18W x 24D) works well to accommodate them during the 3 months or so that they remain buried while molting.

I ordered 2 on June 2, 2008 (Now Oct. 30, 2009). They arrived, packed superbly and in perfect condition - antennae active and not shy at all. Acclimated to captivity and healthy as advertised! And that is the case still.
